A special meeting has been requested by the members to deal with the following motions:

“We, the undersigned Union members of Toronto Local 626 – Canadian Union of Postal Workers, request that you hold a Special Meeting prior to August 30^st, 2022 to vote on the motion put forward by Terence Pun and seconded by Winey John and Abul Hoque of Gateway Tech Services requesting a Shift Bid for the Maintenance Department at Gateway and Motion put forward by Arpinder Kalsi seconded by Naimish Joshi of SCLPP Tech Services requesting a Shift Bid for the Maintenance Department at Gateway and SCLPP. We also request for a Shift Bid for Bradco Tech Services.”

TEMPORARY WORKER CONSULTATION UPDATE GATEWAY

Sisters and Brothers,

Toronto Local met with Gateway management on August 3, 2022. Unfortunately, Canada Post disagreed with the Local's position on the temporary workers' list and violations of seniority.

For violations of seniority for temporary workers, the CPC decided to answer grievances and if necessary pay bypasses.

TEMPORARY WORKERS CONSULTATION GATEWAY

Toronto Local will meet with Gateway management on August 3, 2022, for its first
temporary worker consultation since 2019.

EMANCIPATION DAY

On March 24, 2021, the House of Commons voted unanimously to officially designate August 1 Emancipation Day. It marks the actual day in 1834 that the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833 came into effect across the British Empire
