We Don’t Back Down

Strike Action Starts Strong

September 25, 2025 — Ready from Day One

When the surprise strike call came at approximately 5 p.m., Toronto Local was ready. Members mobilized fast. From plants & depots to picket lines, we stood together — loud and proud.

Queen Street Rally – A Major Win

October 1, 2025 — Downtown Toronto

On the National Day of Protest, we packed Queen Street outside Minister Julie Dabrusin’s office. Thanks to the Toronto & York Labour Council, Scarborough Local CUPW, and our mobilizing team — including Secretary-Treasurer Abdi Hagi Yusuf — we shut the streets down with members bused in from Gateway & Brampton, members who walked from South Central, Portland’s & Commissioner, and others who travelled from across the Toronto Local.

We weren’t just heard — we were seen. News crews covered us. Cameras rolled. The city knew we were there. This was a victory for every worker who showed up and stood strong.

Purolator Action — Making Headlines

We took the fight to Purolator in Etobicoke and Vaughan — key hubs in the Canada Post network. CP24 flew a helicopter to capture our presence. CBC, CTV, and Global ran our story. These weren’t just pickets — they were powerful, public statements.     We proved we’re organized, strategic, and ready.

We’re Not Just Standing — We’re Standing Strong

Every rally, every chant, every action shows our power.       Our unity is our strength.

Behind the Lines — Our Executive Team

Your executive is working day and night — organizing strike pay, coordinating logistics, and keeping us strong.        A big thank you to the leaders doing the hard work behind the scenes.

Call to Action: Stay Ready

Rotating strikes are moving across the country. Our turn is coming — and the notice will be short. Stay ready. Stay in touch. Be ready to hit the line when called.  Our National Executive Board is planning these rotating strikes strategically throughout the country.

Thank You to Every Member

Whether you’re in the station, in the plant, in the repair garage, on the road, or out delivering — rain or shine— your strength drives this fight.       You are the heart of this, union.

This is Our Moment, We will win — Because We Stand Together.

IT’S A BATTLE FOR THE FUTURE OF PUBLIC SERVICE.

SHOW UP. FIGHT BACK. SAVE OUR JOBS.
Saturday, October 25, 2025 | Arrive by 10:45 AM
Union Hall – 47 Densley Avenue, North York

The Liberal government is attacking door-to-door mail delivery — threatening thousands of union jobs and an essential service millions rely on.

This is about your paycheck, your route, and your future.  We’re launching a mass leafleting campaign targeting specific Liberal MPs backing these cuts. If door-to-door delivery disappears, communities deserve to know who is responsible.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Meet at Union Hall by 10:45 AM.
  • Assigned to familiar areas in Toronto or Etobicoke.
  • Work solo, in pairs, or small groups.
  • Receive up to 200 leaflets (more if you can do more).
  • Non-letter carriers will get lighter loads near Union Hall
  • A meal per diem and a Union Bag for your leaflets will be provided.  (We recognize that travel and related expenses can add up, and this meal per diem helps to support your participation in this important campaign.)

WHAT TO BRING

  • Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Reflective vest with logos covered.
  • No Canada Post uniforms allowed.

ACCOUNTABILITY MATTERS

We are leafleting in key ridings to pressure Liberal MPs to stop supporting these harmful cuts.

OUR MESSAGE TO THE GOVERNMENT:

Hands off our service. Hands off our jobs. Hands off my post office.

If you want to dismantle Canada Post, you’ll have to go through us.

SHOW UP. DROP LEAFLETS. TELL THE TRUTH.

We built this service. We will defend it. Together, we can stop the cuts — but only if we act now.
