There are four instances when the National Office will not waive your dues:
- If the member’s status is RAND (never signed an application for membership)
- If the member is on WSIB and receiving pay through Canada Post
- If the member is on approved STD (short term disability)
- The first 17 weeks of Maternity Leave.
INFORMATION REQUIRED WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR DUES WAIVER REQUEST:
Date your Leave starts
Date your Leave ends (if known)
Reason for Leave
It is the responsibility of the member to send her/his request to waive her/his union dues to the Secretary-Treasurer. If you do not waive your dues, and you return to work, you will be double-deducted union dues to recover the dues arrears.
**The Toronto Local does not have a dues assessment, therefore, if you are being deducted more than $90.61, please see your Shop Steward or feel free to contact me.**
