ALL MEMBERS ARE EQUAL

Sisters and Brothers,

Postal workers are going through a tough time right now.

Postal workers have worked throughout the entire period during the pandemic shoulder to shoulder and served the public. The Local has held the employer accountable for not protecting our members’ life and measures as we witness many COVID-19 cases including loss of life.

After a long fight, Canada Post has implemented the mask mandate, 6 feet social distancing and staggered shift start time and departure time which helped to decline the COVID-19 cases at our workplaces. The Union fought for the testing rights for the members up to and including filing a cease and desist order.

Unfortunately, the cease and desist decision was not in our way but the merits of the case will be heard by the arbitrator later. However, the National policy grievance is proceeding in an expedited manner.

The local wants to ensure your rights are protected. If you are being asked by the management to leave the workplace because of the attestation, please file an individual grievance with the union. Contact Sister Donna McDonald at 416-241-1724 or Sister Stacey Mills at 416-241-0618 to make an appointment. The Regional Office is working with the local to expedite the processing of the grievances.

Please visit the local website at www.cupw-sttp.ca for the latest information.

An Injury to one is an injury to all.

In Solidarity
