Dear Sisters and Brothers:
This is a reminder that the Shop Steward and Committees term runs each year from April to March, therefore, to be a Steward for the 2025 term, YOU MUST RE-APPLY (BE NOMINATED) for the position. If you do not put in another nomination, your stewardship ends at the end of March 2025.
Nominations for Shop Stewards, all locations for the 2025-2026 term. ** In order to be nominated as Shop Steward, YOU MUST BE A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING.
Nominations and acceptances must be receive at the Union Hall to the attention of the Secretary-Treasurer, no later than 72 hours prior to the February General Membership Meeting. Nominations will be in accordance with the Toronto Local By-Laws. Remember, YOU MUST RE-APPLY (BE NOMINATED by a member in good standing who works with you in the same location and shift) otherwise your stewardship ENDS AT THE END OR MARCH 2025.
Also, the following committees will have to be re-nominated:
Nominations for the following Committees: Organization Committee (6), Education (12), Postal Journal (8), Anti-Racism (5), Ways & Means (7), Human Rights (6), Social Stewards (Accredited Union Counsellor (3), Temporary Worker (6), Pension & Retiree (6), Toronto Labour Council, Peel Labour Council.
** To be nominated for any of the above-mentioned committees, you MUST BE A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING.
Nominations will be accepted after February 1st, 2025, therefore, do not submit any nominations prior to this date. You can fax to Toronto Local @ (416)-249-8764, mail to Toronto Local or hand deliver, NO EMAIL please.

Please join the Local in celebrating truth and reconciliation for our Indigenous workers with a blessing and refreshments at the Local Union Hall on this important day.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is observed annually on September 30 to honour Survivors of residential schools, their families, and Indigenous communities. This day provides an opportunity to recognize the painful legacy of residential schools, reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonialism, and support meaningful reconciliation. It matters because
We honour the children who never returned home from residential schools.
We Recognize the experiences and resilience of Survivors.
It encourages learning about Indigenous histories, cultures, and contributions.
It also promotes action toward reconciliation and respectful relationships

LABOUR DAY PARADE

Sisters and Brothers:
The Toronto Local, along with other Labour Unions will be marching in the Toronto Labour Day Parade. The Local assembly will be in section 8, which is both sides the East side (Blvd) on University Avenue, south from Dundas St. W. and halfway down to Armoury Street.
FOLLOWING ARE THE DETAILS:
LOCATION: SECTION 8 (PLEASE SEE MAP ON THE BACK)
ARRIVAL: 8:00 A.M.
MARCH: STARTS AT 9:30 SHARP
Come out with your family members to show your support and please remember to wear COMFORTABLE SHOES AND COMFORTABLE CLOTHING!! Wristbands will be issued to marchers only. The wristband is your admission to the C.N.E. They are not to be given/traded to people who are not marching. Please make sure you bring your identification (preferably your Union Card) or one showing you work at Canada Post. T-Shirts and wristbands will be handed out on first come first serve basis and must be marching in the parade.
