This past weekend, CUPW members took the fight to the streets across Toronto, leafleting in multiple ridings with unions, Labour Council allies, and community supporters. Liberal MPs are cutting door-to-door mail, threatening good jobs, and putting communities at risk — and we are holding them accountable.

LETTER CARRIERS, PLANT WORKERS, DRIVERS, CLERKS, MAINTENANCE MECHANICS — we showed up together, and we are unstoppable. I went door-to-door myself, telling the truth.

THE LEAFLETS SAID:

“This mailbox is scheduled to be permanently closed, effective September 25, 2025.
Your mail and parcels will no longer be delivered to your home.”
By Order of: [Resident’s Liberal MP Name & Contact]

Our action made headlines — Global News, the Toronto Star, and others covered it. The fight for Canada Post is in the media — exactly where it belongs.

CANADA POST CLAIMS:
“This flyer is misleading and will cause unnecessary stress for homeowners,” said spokesperson Jon Hamilton (Toronto Star, Oct 24, 2025).

THE LIBERAL RESPONSE:
Julie Dzerowicz, Liberal MP for Davenport, defended the cuts — threatening essential services, jobs, and communities across Toronto. We will make sure Liberal MPs face the voters about these attacks.

THE REALITY:

  • Door-to-door mail is essential for seniors, people with disabilities, and those with mobility challenges.
  • Canada Post cannot even accommodate all their injured or restricted workers. If they can’t support their own workers, how can they serve the public?
  • Other countries are expanding postal services — postal banking, green delivery, and community services. Here, in Canada, jobs and routes will be cut.

We built this service. We run this service. We will defend it — together.

WE WILL NOT BE BROKEN – WE MUST STAND TOGETHER!!

Now it’s time to turn up the pressure.

The leafleting campaign was just the beginning

Our message is simple:
If the Liberal government wants to take away door-to-door mail delivery, and to gut out Canada Post, then their MPs need to hear directly from postal workers, as we are also the public they serve.

Liberal MP’s are telling residents that Canada Post’s plan was fair and that “accommodations” would be made for seniors and for Canadians with disabilities who need it.

We know better.
Canada Post can’t even properly accommodate its own injured or restricted workers — many are sitting at home without a paycheque, waiting for help that never comes.
So, when MPs talk about “accommodating” the public, we know that’s just spin.

Liberal MP’s hide behind talking points while workers and communities pay the price.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

  1. Find your MP’s contact information by going on-line.
  2. Pick up the phone you don’t need a script. Just speak from the heart.
  3. Say this clearly: “I am a Canada Post worker. I serve my community. If you have mail delivered to your door then ask :    “Why is your  MP cutting door-to-door delivery — a service millions depend on?” “Why is the Liberal government gutting out Canada post?”
  4. Tell them this isn’t over. We will keep calling, leafleting, and organizing until this government stops attacking our jobs, our service our neighbors cherish.

WHY IT MATTERS

  • Door-to-door mail delivery is a public service, not a privilege like they are telling the residents they represent .
  • The Liberal government’s plan threatens jobs, pensions, and community service.
  • Liberal MP’s need to be reminded: postal workers built this service — and we will defend it.

STAND UP. SPEAK OUT. STAY UNITED.

If we stand together, they cannot ignore us.  If we stay silent, they will dismantle our service piece by piece.

Pick up the phone.

Defend our service.

Defend our jobs.

Defend our post office.

You can also email your M.P., give your name and Postal Code
