GATEWAY WEST STAFFING CONSULT UPDATES

Sisters and Brothers,

Toronto Local met with Gateway management on May 30 to follow up on the local counter-proposal for the consultation for Gateway West staffing

The following terms were agreed upon:

1.The bid will be open between June 3rd, 2022 @15:00 to June 10th, 2022 @15:00

Reporting the week of June 26, 2022,
Unassigned employees in the section are not eligible to bid.
Employees on TSOS / LOA / LTD, STDP, and Special Leave are eligible & must bid.
The 39.07 backfill assignment, where the incumbent assignment changes as a result of the section bid, that 39.07 assignment will end.
If there are no changes to the incumbent assignment as a result of the section bid that 39.07 assignment will continue.

The local would like to thank the CSS, shop stewards, and members who contributed to a counter-proposal to management.

President’s Report for March

On March 1^st to the 2^nd our National negotiators discussed our ongoing bargaining dispute with Canada Post and worked towards new collective agreements. During these negotiations, we proposed enhancements to weekend parcel deliveries while advocating for protecting full-time jobs. However, Canada Post has maintained a position that includes rollbacks, which would undermine our collective agreement and threaten the stability of full-time employment.
