NOMINATIONS FOR DELEGATES TO REGIONAL CONFERENCE

 

TO ELECT 3RD NATIONAL VICE-PRESIDENT AND NATIONAL

UR – EXTERNAL ORGANIZING

 

Sisters and Brothers:

 

The Toronto Local is accepting nominations and acceptances to become a delegate to the Regional Conference to elect the above-mentioned two vacancies.  The entitlement for Toronto Local is tentatively (129) delegates.

The Local will follow the National Constitution and the Toronto By-Laws specifically Article 11 to elect the delegates. In order to be nominated and elected as a delegate:

 

  1. You must be a member in good standing
  2. Nominated by a member in good standing, in writing
  3. Accept the nomination, in writing, include full name, I.D. and email
  4. Make sure you submit your nomination and acceptance to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Local by either mail, fax or email [email protected]
  5. Keep a copy, including the faxed confirmation.
  6. If you are emailing, please email a scanned, signed copy of your nomination/acceptance. **Emails with no signature will not be accepted.**

 

The Regional Conference will be held on Virtual Platform on May 6, 2022.  The deadline to submit your nomination/acceptance is no later than 12:00 Noon March 28, 2022

 

Note – If there is an election, the Local will notify the members, as per the Toronto Local By-Laws.

The Corporation is not negotiating in good faith with the National CUPW Negotiators.  In simple terms they have not agreed to any clauses in the Collective Agreement. We cannot sit back and avoid a strike if Canada Post does not continue to negotiate, not this time.  Every member has to come out to vote to protect all of our rights.

AMENDED STRIKE MANDATE VOTE

  2. Presentation from the Local, Regional and National
  3. Voting will start after the short presentations.

LABOUR DAY PARADE

SEPTEMBER 2, 2024

The Toronto Local, along with other Labour Unions will be marching in the Toronto Labour Day Parade.     The Local assembly will be in section 6, which is both sides the East side (Blvd) on University Avenue, south from Dundas St. W. and halfway down to Armoury Street.
