CUPW Toronto Local is very disturbed about the survey you have done about postal workers.

Just so that you know we the postal workers served the public during this ongoing pandemic.

Toronto Local has lost two members due to COVID 19 and thousands of our workers and their families are affected by this pandemic. Despite all these our members never stopped serving public and delivering their mail, goods, medicine and daily essential items.

I do not know how much history you know but Canada Post Corporation for the last few decades have given millions and millions of dollar to the government. The government does not fund Canada Post. We are self-sustaining.

As minister responsible for Canada Post you never asked the public,

- How happy they are to receive their daily mail and orders during the pandemic?

- You never asked the public what kind of sacrifice our workers have made to make sure that in lockdowns public stay home and receive their essentials?

We went out and face the consequences and came home to our loved ones with this virus and that includes you madam Minister.

It is shameful to ask public their opinion on four questions including replacing workers with machines, closing rural post offices (in most rural communities the post office is the only public office), 3-day delivery and community mail boxes at the same time suggesting to the public that the government is funding Canada Post, which is not truthful.

Postal workers are now aware of your survey and since the Liberals have only been a minority government for the last two terms we will take into consideration every attack on postal workers into the next election.

Toronto Local will be advising their approximately eleven thousand members and their families to consider the issue of Liberals downsizing Canada Post and jeaprodising the public service that public needs.

Toronto Local is looking forward to meet with you at your office. Any attack on public services will not go silent.

Regards,

VOTE YES FOR A CLEAR STRIKE MANDATE

Sisters, Brothers, Cousins:

The Corporation is not negotiating in good faith with the National CUPW Negotiators.  In simple terms they have not agreed to any clauses in the Collective Agreement. We cannot sit back and avoid a strike if Canada Post does not continue to negotiate, not this time.  Every member has to come out to vote to protect all of our rights.
