To all:** POSTAL WORKERS CUPW TORONTO LOCAL MEMBERS

AN EMERGENCY RALLY CALL FOR A FAIR CONTRACT AND TO PROTECT WORKERS’ RIGHTS

**When:** Monday, December 16th at 10 am
**Where:** 622 College St W. Toronto, Outside the offices of Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland

Attention to all Letter Carriers, Postal Clerks, RSMC’s, Maintenance Mechanics, and every CUPW member! It’s time to come together, regardless of whether you work at a letter carrier depot, plant, or postal outlet. Whether you’ve been involved in picketing or not, your voice matters—we need everyone to stand up for our rights to negotiate a fair contract at the bargaining table while withholding our work.

With your participation we will make history in our fight for fairness at a significant moment.

Federal Labour Minister Steve MacKinnon has invoked Section 107 of the Canadian Labour Code—a violation of workers’ rights and a move that threatens Canadian democracy. This action may direct the CIRB to send us back to work across the country. But don’t worry our Union is looking at our options.
CUPW Toronto Local and the Toronto & York Region Labour Council are coordinating this rally. The Scarborough Local has been invited to join us.
For over a month, we have been striving to reach a fair contract and settle our disputes, but Canada Post Corporation continues to refuse to bargain fairly and in good faith. The Liberal government’s willingness to intervene on behalf of Canada Post has violated our rights and we cannot stand by silently.
This follows a trend of Liberal government intervention on the side of the employer, attacking workers’ rights and ensuring the employers won’t bargain in good faith.
Now, in the face of imminent unconstitutional back-to-work mandates, CUPW members and working people are standing up to a government which has sold us out.
Together in the thousands we can make our voices heard and advocate for the rights of all workers in Canada. Join us in this historic protest, as we stand against the escalating government intervention that undermines our collective rights.
Your participation at this rally at 10am, December 16th, 2024 will count toward your picket duty for that day but do keep in mind that transportation costs, mileage and parking costs will not be covered. The rally is planned for no more than 2 hours.
Let’s come together and make our stand for fair treatment and justice!

April 28 Day of Mourning

Dear Postal Workers,

On April 28th, we observe the National Day of Mourning to honour those who have lost their lives or suffered in the workplace. This day also serves as a call to action for stricter safety standards. Let’s stand in solidarity with our fellow Postal Workers, advocating for the vital changes our workplaces need and resisting intimidation from management.
