ARE WATCHING YOU!

Sisters and Brothers: 

At the monthly meeting yesterday, the Local was informed that there are over 250 cameras placed in the South Central Plant.  The cameras have the ability to turn 360 degree’s and they have a zoom lens that can get extreme close ups. 

Management stated that the cameras could see every nook and cranny on the work floor. 

The membership should assume that you are being watched every minute you are on site. 

Management stated that the rest pods, washrooms and cafeteria do not have cameras installed, are they telling the truth?  I would not trust them. 

Although Management states that this is to ensure the security of the mail, we do not believe that they will not try to use these cameras for disciplining our members. 

Management states that the only monitors are those used by Security & Investigations and that the supervisors do not have access to view the monitors.  We know how Management works, if given the opportunity they will be viewing the monitor.  This could become a sneaky way of disciplining the membership.  We will keep a careful eye on this issue and inform the members every step of the way. 

In the meantime watch your backs, Canada Post certainly is.
